BYJU'S has decided to open 500 physical tuition centres across 200 cities in 2022 after a pilot, a move underlining the blended learning ambitions of the the world's most-valued online tutoring startup.
Targeting classes four to 10, the firm said the BYJU'S Tuition Centre brings together offline and online learning experiences.
"BYJU'S Tuition Centres address the needs of a large segment of parents and students who want a physical element in addition to online teaching support," said Mrinal Mohit, chief operating officer at BYJU'S.
"With positive feedback from the first 80 centres launched as a part of the pilot programme, BYJU'S will be launching 500 centres across 200 cities in 2022. BYJU'S Tuition Centre will also create employment opportunities for over 10,000 plus people across India within a year of operations," the edtech firm said on February 17.
The company said it aims to enroll one million students via this initiative in the next two years.
With blended learning set to be the future of education in a post-pandemic world, the BYJU'S Tuition Centre is setting new benchmarks for this format, the company added.
"Owing to the pandemic, students had to oscillate between offline and online learning but this new offering of BYJU'S will address complex concerns of students and parents," said Himanshu Bajaj, head of BYJU'S Tuition Centre.
